- Babylonian mother Goddess of the Tree of Life (The Celtic Tree of Life is called Crann Bethadh), guarded by the serpent who stood for eternal life. In Hebrew Eden means a place of delight and the tree, a unified symbol of knowledge and immortality, was split into two trees: the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge.
